Miquel Lacasta is a Co-Founder at ARCHIKUBIK and also at @kubik – multidisciplinary space. He earned a Ph.D. with honours (cum laude) at ESARQ-UIC, and he was also awarded with the Ph.D special award (UIC 2012), M.arch at ESARQ Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, and graduated as architect at ETSAB Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Miquel is an Associate Professor at ESARQ since 1996. Earlier, he was faculty at Elisava and Escola LAI, and also in post graduated programs at ETSAB and La Salle. He was Co-director of the workshop “Ravalizar Barcelona” at ITSEM Guadalajara, Mexico, and CCNY, New York, USA in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He won the A+ prize in 2010 for Sunion School at the Best Educational Building, The International Architecture Award 2008 at The Chicago Athenaeum for Colin’s House, and the first prize at Corian Prize in 2006. His work has been exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid, Florence, Cannes and at Le Pavillon de l’Arsenal in Paris. Several publications have been recognized his work as Quaderns, ON, Arquitectura Plus, Piso, Arquitectura y Diseño, El País, ABC, La Vanguardia, and others. He recently did lectures at ITSEM GDL, Mexico, Facolta di Architettura di l’Alghero, Italy, msa Münster School of Architecture, Germany, the IBM Think Tank at Paris, France, Universidad de Celaya, MX, IaAC Barcelona, CCAU at Guadalajara, MX, International School of Projects, Moscow, Rusia, keynote speaker at Kinnernet unconference, Avallon, France and several universities and organizations in Spain. He was recently awarded for the ZAC RN5 at Vitry-sur-Seine competition, an Eco-district of 255 social and private dwellings and student residence competition at Ivry. More recently he has won the first prize for the Saint Roch TGV Parking at Montpellier, France, the ZAC Ivry Port at Ivry-sur-Seine, France, Selected for FAD Award Ephemeral Architecture 2013, Futur Possibles 2014 Prize, international FAD award 2015, Hispalyt Ceramic Award 2015 selection. The Reversible Saint-Roch Parking, Montpellier, France, Ascer Awards 2015. Honorary mention for the ceramic construction, the Reversible Saint-Roch Parking, Montpellier, France, Bienal de Venecia 2016, Aftermath. Catalan Pavilion, the Reversible Saint-Roch Parking, Montpellier, France, Bienal de Venecia 2016, Unfinished. Spanish Pavilion, Rei Martí Water Tank, Barcelona, Spain, Mies Van Der Rohe 2017 Award nomination (15th edition of the European Union prize for contemporary architecture).
